Our firm was established in 1979 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Although, we have built a reputation as a leading Intellectual Property law firm we have a wealth of know-how in all areas of law in Afghanistan. As part of our drive for excellence and recognition we have also registered with The Law Society in the United Kingdom.
We have been engaged in many high profile legal matters specially in the commercial field with Intellectual Property as the main focus of our work and expertise.
Due to the troublesome years that Afghanistan has experienced Afghan IP laws have been limited to trademark rights only and all other rights such as laws for patents, copyrights , design , computer software, and domain names did not come in to force in our country, which has undoubtedly left a legal vacuum. However, while further laws are developed some legal protection is afforded in the form of "Cautionary Notices". These are printed in a newspaper in English and act as form of notice to all to prevent breaches of rights. These Cautionary Notices may be used as a priority right especially when other laws come into force.
Our clients range from multi national corporates to individuals. As a well established firm we have also been engaged in providing our expertise to the government and other agencies which have been involved in the development of laws and the legal system in Afghanistan.
We are more than happy to offer advice on any of your legal matters and queries and look forward to hearing from you.
